MycoFab 🍄

MycoFab builds next generation materials by turning mycelium into a scalable technology platform that grows, adapts, and replaces carbon intensive materials across industries, with furniture and interiors as beachhead markets.

The Problem

The materials shaping our built environment are optimized for cost and speed, not for planetary health nor human health. Despite growing regulatory pressure and sustainability commitments, existing alternatives struggle with inconsistency, lack of standardization, and poor compatibility with industrial production.

Biomaterials exist, but they rarely scale. They remain artisanal, fragile, or experimental; difficult to trust, specify, and manufacture.

Our Solution

A material revolution is under way. We start contributing toward by working with mycelium, the living network behind mushrooms. Often called the magic of the mushroom, mycelium naturally binds organic matter into strong, lightweight structures. At MycoFab, we turn this biological ability into an engineered material system. By controlling growth conditions, substrates, and postprocessing, we create mycelium based materials that are repeatable, tunable, and ready for real world industrial use.

Why Mycelium

Fungi are one of the most powerful and overlooked living beings on the planet. They recycle ecosystems, connect forests through underground networks, and transform waste into nutrients. Yet, despite their intelligence and efficiency, we have barely begun to harness their potential for our industrial scale problems. Mycelium grows with minimal energy, feeds on waste, and forms complex structures without toxic additives. We believe fungi are not just a biological curiosity, they are a missing technology in the material world.

Our Approach

We treat mushrooms as a technology platform, not a one-off biomaterial for a specific use case. This means designing systems, not just products. We develop growth recipes, process controls, and data driven methods that allow mycelium to be adapted for different performance needs. By building a platform, we enable continuous iteration, scalability, and future applications beyond a single material category.

Our Vision

We envision a future where materials are grown, not extracted, where biology becomes a programmable layer of manufacturing, and regenerative materials compete on performance, not just intention.

MycoFab is building the foundations for that future.

Our Impact

We are an impact driven team. Our impact goes beyond the material itself. We care about social transformation as well. MycoFab will be building modular production units that can be deployed close to raw material sources, transforming underutilized urban spaces and supporting economic activity in rural and underserved areas. These localized units reduce transportation emissions, create skilled jobs, and turn agricultural waste into value. Material innovation becomes a tool for social and regional resilience.

We are a siblings duo.
